Downhill Individual

Downhill or DHI for Downhill Individual is the definitely the most spectacular and intrepid MTB discipline. It’s not difficult to understand: the aim is to arrive at the finish line as fast as possible… on a trail that an average mortal would be mad to attempt! Complicated and fast sections alternate with a succession of jumps, roots, clusters of stones, slopes and all sorts of other obstacles destined to undermine the rider’s control. Because in this race, control is the key ingredient, with a good dose of fear and adrenalin!

This legendary trail has also been the venue for the Crankworx, many World Cups and the 2004 World Championships.

We recommend thrill-seekers head for the Mont-Chéry trail (don’t be fooled by the sweet name) where you will be able to feel the emotions of the riders. The riders race against the clock from the start at 1,719 metres facing Mont Blanc for 2,300 metres with a negative grade of 550 metres. It is a very complete trail alternating technical and other more intrepid sections. After the first section in an open alpine environment, it heads into the forest. Exemplary physical preparation and a high-level of technical expertise are required.
